We are excited to launch a Youth Fishing Club at Franklin First United Methodist Church for elementary and junior high students aged 5 to 12 years old. This unique ministry combines outdoor recreation, mentorship, and faith-building opportunities in a fun and welcoming environment.
The club is designed to help children unplug from screens, connect with nature, and build meaningful relationships with caring adult mentors within the Franklin Methodist community. Through fishing outings and shared experiences, participants will develop new skills, grow in confidence, and experience the value of community and friendship across generations.
Our first fishing event is scheduled for Sunday, October 11th, at noon. We will meet at Franklin First United Methodist and then head to a nearby pond for an afternoon of fishing, fellowship, and fun.
Whether a child is an experienced angler or has never held a fishing rod, the Youth Fishing Club at FUMC Franklin offers a welcoming environment where everyone can learn, grow, and enjoy God's creation together.
Join us as we build community, foster mentorship, and create lasting memories one fishing trip at a time.

Creating a safe, welcoming environment for children, youth, and vulnerable individuals is a vital part of our ministry at Franklin First United Methodist Church. We invite all current and prospective volunteers, staff, and ministry leaders who work with children or youth to attend our upcoming Safe Sanctuary Training at Franklin First United Methodist.
This training fulfills the Safe Sanctuary requirements of the West Ohio Conference and provides practical guidance for preventing abuse, maintaining appropriate boundaries, and ensuring the well-being of those entrusted to our care at Franklin Methodist. More than a policy, our Safe Sanctuary initiative reflects our commitment to creating spaces at FUMC Franklin where faith can be nurtured in safety, trust, and love.
A light meal will be provided. Registration is requested so we can prepare materials and food accordingly.
Who should attend?
Anyone who currently serves, or plans to serve, with children, youth, nursery, VBS, Sunday School, special events, or other ministries involving minors.
